• To assist in the provision of high quality Radiographic Service within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust, whilst complying with all Trust and Department policies and procedures. • To carry out all radiographic techniques and examinations to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently following department procedures. • Undertakes specialist areas of practice as delegated by site lead. • May be required to work in any radiology department with appropriate notice. Including community hospitals. Expected to participate in shifts/rotas to cover a 24/7 service • To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. Performing High-Quality CT Imaging: Carry out CT imaging procedures in line with departmental protocols to ensure high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety and comfort. 2. Patient Care and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of patients during radiographic procedures, including maintaining radiation protection standards and adhering to health and safety regulations. 3. Training and Supervision: Assist in the training and supervision of junior radiographers, assistant practitioners, and student radiographers, ensuring they adhere to departmental standards and protocols. 4. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance programs to maintain and improve the quality of imaging services, including regular equipment checks and adherence to best practices. 5. Administrative Duties: Manage administrative tasks related to patient care, such as maintaining accurate patient records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring compliance with data protection policies We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. As an Band 6 CT Specialist Radiographer, you play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care through both compassion and expertise. Your primary responsibility is to perform high-quality CT scans, ensuring accurate and timely diagnoses. You will guide patients through the scanning process with empathy, addressing their concerns and providing clear instructions to alleviate anxiety. Your expertise in using advanced CT technology allows you to produce precise images while minimising radiation exposure. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, contributing your specialized knowledge to optimise patient outcomes and maintain the highest standards of care.
